Rakhine traditional sand pagoda festival held in Sittway

Rakhine religious associations and youths celebrated the traditional sand pagoda festival by building sand replicas of pagodas yesterday, the Full Moon Day of Tabaung, on the Ngapali beach in Thandwe.

The festival celebrates the teachings of the Buddha. Buddhist devotees believe that observing the festival would bring prosperity and peace to the country. — Tin Tu (IPRD)
