Police seized Illegal raw jade stones in a search operation in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region on August 4.
Under the close supervision of the head of the township police force, a police squad from Indaw police outpost stopped a vehicle at Nabar junction on the Shwebo-Myitkyina Road in Indaw Township at about 6:30 a.m. based on an anonymous tipoff. The police force discovered 13 different sizes of uncut jade stones, 590 jade bracelets and one mobile phone in the vehicle.
The driver identified as San Lwin, 30, and his coworker Aung Soe aka Chit Than, 31, have been charged under the Myanmar Gemstone Law by the local police.—MOHA
