Peace negotiators, politicians, volunteers hold talks in Khamti

A meeting between the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) and local political parties and civil societies was held at the meeting room of the General Administration Department in Khamti, Sagaing Region this morning.

On the occasion, Secretary of the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) U Myint Soe made an opening speech and members of the local political parties and civil societies individually introduced. The topics discussed during the meeting were the emergence of peace process, signing of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), role of framework of political dialogue, convening of 21st century peace conferences and current peace-making process.


The meeting was participated by 35 members of the UPDJC, one Lower House MP, two regional lawmakers, five delegates from local literature and cultural association, three Naga representatives, 15 volunteers from civil societies, and 15 politicians totaling 75 people.
