New York grapples with influx in cases

The US state of New York is working to increase hospital bed capacity to treat the rapidly rising number of coronavirus patients.

The state accounts for more than half of the country's confirmed cases.

On Thursday, people who hoped to be tested for the virus formed a line--standing two meters apart--outside of a hospital in Queens, which has the most cases among the five boroughs of New York City.

In Manhattan, workers set up a large tent to serve as a makeshift morgue in preparation for an expected surge in deaths.

Workers wearing masks were preparing fencing so that the inside of the tent cannot be seen.
