Myanmar men’s football team to play int’l friendlies in March, June

12 Jan

Myanmar national men’s football team is scheduled to play international friendly matches in March and June 2021, according to the football authorities.

The team has also scheduled to play remaining matches of the 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup Second Round qualifiers this year.

An agreement has been reached with the rival teams for the June friendly match, but negotiations are underway for the friendlies in March.

The Myanmar national team and the Jordan national team formerly agreed to play a friendly match in November 2020, but it was cancelled due to the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the two football federations decided to play again this year.

The latest friendly match of team Myanmar before the pandemic period was on 7 November 2019 in Mandalay against Nepal national team.

The Myanmar national team will play two World Cup qualifiers in March and one World Cup qualifier in June, and thus training is set to begin this month. The Myanmar national team will play against Japan on 25 March as part of the remaining world cup qualifiers.

On 30 March, the team Myanmar will play against Kyrgyzstan at their home and also play away match against Tajikistan on 15 June.
