Household fire kills 3 in Moscow 

MOSCOW, 7 Septpember

 

Three people have been killed as an open fire broke out in a top-floor apartment of a nine-storey residential building in early morning in Russia's capital Moscow, local media reported on Monday.


The building is located in the Zelenograd district of the city. The apartment has been heavily cluttered when rescue teams arrived, the report said, quoting a press release by Moscow emergency services.


"At 05:41 (0241 GMT), the fire was contained. At 05:51, the fire was extinguished on an area of 50 square meters," said the press release.


The last major deadly fire in Moscow region this year occurred on Jan. 7 when a fire engulfed metal-frame portable cabins in a greenhouse complex, killing at least eight people.
