One man was killed and two others sustained minor injuries in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a light truck in Labutta Township, Ayeyawady Region.
The fatal accident occurred near milepost 10/7 on the Labutta-Myaungmya Road near Padaukgon Village in Labutta Township at about 6 p.m. on 30 July. A passenger bus driven by U Khin Maung Win Si was heading to Yangon from Labutta and collided with a light truck coming from an opposite direction.
Firemen from a local fire brigade rushed to the scene of accident to carry out the rescue operation at once. One out of three men from the light truck died on the spot and two others were slightly injured in the accident. The injured people are said to be not in critical condition and were transferred to a nearby public hospital by an ambulance.
Action has been taken against both drivers of passenger bus and light truck over reckless driving by the local police.
