Fire torches two houses in Kawhmu Township

Two houses were burnt to ashes in a fire in Letkhaik Village in Kawhmu Township, Yangon Region on 24 March morning.

Regional Lawmaker for No.2 constituency U Zaw Min Aung, Township Administer U Htet Win, the commander of the township police force Police Major Win Hlaing, firefighters and policemen rushed to the scene of fire. They took about 15 minutes to completely put out the flame with the use of three fire engines and two water tankers. The fire believed to have started from an overheated rice cooker engulfed two nearby houses.

The house owner identified as Daw Yin Yin Tun has been taken action over fire negligence by the local police station.—Kyaw Thura (Kawhmu)
