Theinni, 6 August
An anti-drug squad raided the house of a suspected drug smuggler in Ward-4, Theinni Township in Northern Shan State at about 2:30 p.m. on August 4 based on an anonymous tip.
Members of the anti-drug team found wife of the suspect in the house and discovered 1.6 kilograms of heroin, an assault rifle, seven bullets and a magazine. Action has been taken against the house owner identified as Ma Mar Kot aka Li Quan alias Wah Wah Win over possession of drugs and weapons under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the local police.
