COVID-19 cases in Germany up 4,974, deaths up 246

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Germany rose by 4,974 over the past 24 hours to 108,202 on Thursday, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases.

 

The reported death toll rose by 246 to 2,107, according to RKI, the federal government agency and research institute responsible for disease control and prevention.

 

RKI President Lothar Wieler said ealier that it was too early for his institute to conclude the coronavirus crisis in Germany was undergoing a general improvement, adding that the country needs to "wait the next few days to see if there is a trend in the reports."
