Concrete lane, school library launched in Hpa-an to mark 73rd anniversary of Union Day

A ceremony to launch a new concrete lane was held to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Union Day in conjunction with opening of a school library in the No.1 Basic Education High School in Hpa-an, Kayin State this morning.

 

The concrete lane and school library were formally opened by Director of the Department of Education Daw Myint Myint Win, Township Education Officer U Than Htike Oo, Headmaster U Min Nyan Kyaw and members of the school board of trustees U Yu Ngwe and U Ngwe Soe by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Next, Kayin State Minister for Social Affairs U Bo Bo Wai Maung gave a speech and viewed round the school library.

The local government donated 844 cement bags the school board of trustee members and donors contributed Ks. 23.5 million to build the school library and a concrete lane measuring 1105 ft. in length and 16 ft. in width.—Nay Myo Lwin (IPRD)
