MoC allows import process of anti-COVID-19 equipment on 27 July

FOR the quick and easy import of anti-COVID-19 equipment including liquid oxygen, oxygen gas, and oxygen concentrators, the Ministry of Commerce is allowing regular import activities at international airports, seaports and border trade posts, including Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti, Lweje, Myawady, Tachilek, Kawthoung, Mawtaung, and Hteekhee from 26 July to 1 August that are designated as public holidays.

 

Relevant departmental officials are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the standard operating procedures, including online registration for the import process during the long public holidays.

 

On 27 July, 3,879 oxygen concentrators and 9,660 test kits from Yangon International Airport and 58 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 35 tonnes of the liquid oxygen tank, 2,785 home oxygen concentrators, 9,660 test kits, 82 tonnes of masks and 7,000 PPE suits from Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti, and Kawthoung trading posts were successfully imported.

 

The aforementioned items were imported by 49 vehicles from 33 companies. From 12 to 27 July, 611 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 465 tonnes of the liquid oxygen tank, 105 tonnes of oxygen gas, 41,382 home oxygen concentrators, 260,528 test kits, 776 tonnes of masks, four oxygen plants and nine oxygen generators have been allowed to be imported as officials are giving priority to disease control of the Covid-19.

 

The Ministry of Commerce is cooperating with relevant departments to facilitate the importation of Covid-19 disease prevention and control equipment by arranging direct contact with officials from relevant trade centres if assistance is needed and contact persons can be contacted directly at the Ministry’s website, Commerce.gov.mm, officials said. —MNA
