Mongolia adds 512 new COVID-19 cases

Mongolia added 512 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide tally to 46,448, the country's health ministry said Wednesday.

The country also reported 1,503 new recoveries and five virus-related deaths over the past day, bringing the national counts to 35,733 and 196 respectively, the ministry said in a statement.

Mongolia launched a mass COVID-19 vaccination campaign in late February, aiming to cover at least 60 percent of its population of 3.3 million.

A total of more than 1,678,100 Mongolians have so far received their first dose and over 631,600 have got both jabs, said the ministry.
