Some online shopping pages cheating customers: Customer Affairs Dept.

SOME online shopping pages are cheating the customers, making falsified receipts of the cargo transport service, the Consumer Affairs Department under the Ministry of Commerce has warned in an announcement.

“As the online shopping business is booming, customers are conveniently purchasing goods and services online, using internet technology,” said the announcement by the Consumers Affairs Department.

It warned: “Certain individual online shopping pages are cheating the customers, using fraudulent sale methods, taking advantage of the customers’ limited knowledge of online shopping techniques.”

“Moreover, some online shopping pages are asking the customers to transfer the money in advance, showing counterfeit receipts of the government and private shipping services and cargo transport service,” the announcement added, urging online customers to exercise utmost caution whenever doing online shopping.

On the other hand, it is learnt that the Ministry of Health and Sports also announced in the first week of October that the people are prohibited from buying the COVID-19 prevention vaccines advertised on the online market and social media.
