Myanmar officials join 1st ASEAN Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee Meeting online

The online meeting of 1st ASEAN Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee Meeting was hosted by Laos yesterday afternoon.

Myanmar officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Defence Services, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement the Office of Union Attorney-General attended the event together with the director-general levels delegates from cybersecurity sector in ASEAN countries and officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.

Officials from the Ministry of Information also attended the meeting to represent the SOMRI-Myanmar.

At the meeting, the working groups discussed the draft version of ASEAN Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee Terms of Reference; the representatives from member countries presented the implementation of cybersecurity development; the work plans of coordinating committee were presented; the participants exchanged views on the implementation of standards for cyberspace.

The ASEAN Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee Terms of Reference was drafted by the ASEAN Network Security Action Council, and the coordinating committee will also organize its annual meetings in line with this TOR.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
