Foreign ambassadors in Myanmar visit Ayeyarwady Centre

Ambassadors and officials from the embassies of Japan, Israel and Italy visited the Ayeyarwady Centre, set up by the Ayeyarwady Foundation, where medical treatments are provided to COVID-19 patients under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Sports. During the visit, Japanese Ambassador Mr Maruyama Ichiro, the Ayeyarwady Foundation Chairman U Zaw Zaw and officials explained the centre. The ambassador said he would do his best to support the treatment of COVID-19 disease in Myanmar.


Similarly, Israeli Ambassador Mr Ronen Gilor visited the ICU and HDU places of the centre. He also said to provide the necessary assistance of the COVID-19 treatment. Italian Ambassador Ms Alessandra Schiavo and Ayeyarwady Foundation Chairman U Zaw Zaw held an online meeting on 13 October. The Ambassador expressed thanks for the visits of her embassy officials to the centre. She offered assistance in medical treatment at ICU and HDU medical care rooms, shared the COVID-19 experience in her home country and proposed to conduct ICU and HDU training by Italian doctors and experts and provide necessary assistance. Chairman U Zaw Zaw replied the need for approval of MoHS for the assistance of Italian doctors and medical experts, and he offered to provide accommodations for them during their stay in Myanmar.
