45 new virus cases recorded in Magway Region

45 news covid-19 cases were reported in Magway Region on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed virus cases in the region to 3,350, according to the Department of Public Health.


There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed coronavirus patients on January 28 were from Magway, Chauk, Ngaphe, Pakkoku, Minhla, Yenangyoung, Myaing and Yesagyo Townships.


A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Most of the virus patients are returnees, the truck drivers and their assistants, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.


So far, Magway Region saw 3,359 confirmed covid-19 cases, with 13 deaths.
