With the aim to provide electricity to wards and villages in Kyaukhtu Region, Gangaw District, electrification projects were implemented in the region starting from 2019. Now, Lay village in the region has been distributed electricity starting from November 25, according to Kyaukhtu Electricity Supply Enterprise.
In the village, there are 78 households and 386 local people in the village have been distributed electricity. Arrangements were being undertaken to provide electricity to 30 villages in the region by the end of 2020. Now, 29 villages have been distributed electricity and out of which, electrification projects in eight villages were implemented under NEP Phase-1. Other projects in 22 villages were undertaken with the funds of Magway Region Government.
