Residents in Gyobingauk Twsp happy with availability of electricity from National Grid

99 houses from Kywebi Village in Gyobingauk Township, Bago Region have been supplied with electricity from the National Grid since first week of December last year, according to the village electrification committee.


Power poles were built and a transformer was installed in the village to have electricity from the National Grid by spending over 18 million kyats. The rural electrification scheme was implemented under the Emerald Green Project in September last year. The residents are happy with availability of electricity and believe the rural electrification structure will improve their living standard, said a local.


So far, rural electrification facilities were built in seven villages in the township under the Emerald Green Project, according to the township Department of Rural Development.
