National COVID committee receives donations of cash, medical supplies

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe, in his capacity as the Secretary (2) of National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19, received cash and medical supplies yesterday.


At the donation ceremony, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing explained the US$100,000 donation of Thai-based petroleum and natural gas company PTTEP for COVID-19 containment measures, the donation of cash and relief supplies worth about $900,000 by the companies in the joint venture with the MoEE to date, reduction of electricity bill during COVID-19 crisis and regular electricity supplies to public hospitals and medical service centres with the patients of this disease.


Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe expressed thanks for the donation in advance and explained control measures against the pandemic in the country.


The donation items included $100,000 from the PTTEP International (Yangon) Branch and Andaman Transportation Ltd., 480 bottles of Remdesivir 100 mg injection from the Ayar-MED Myanmar Co.Ltd, and the portable X-ray machines and medical supplies worth about K140,296,000 from the DKSH Myanmar Ltd.
