Inter-village road under construction in Shanywathit town

Shanywathit, 26 January

Rural developmental tasks are being undertaken in Shanywathit Town, Kayin State with the aim of improving socioeconomic status of rural people.

The Border Areas and National Races Development Department under the Ministry of Border Affairs has been building an inter-village road in Meethamue Village in Shanywathit Town in the current fiscal year since December last year. The three-mile long earthen road is being built by a private construction company at a cost of more than 110 million kyats and the project has been about 80 percent finished so far.

Once completed, local people will be able to use the road in all seasons with greater ease and their economic, social, health and education standard will improve inevitably.
