Local authorities made an inspection tour to a rural road being built by the Department of Rural Development in Bung Village in Mindat Township, Chin State on January 25.
The three-mile long rural road is being built by a private construction company at a cost of nearly 36 million kyats allocated by the local government in the present fiscal year. They looked into progress of the rural road and heard reports on works to be carried out by the DRD in the future.
Once completed, local people will be able to export locally-products such as elephant foot yam, corn, potatoes and avocado to other areas in all seasons without delay, said U Aung Lwin, an official from the township DRD.
