UMFCCI holds virtual meeting with US-ASEAN Business Council

President U Zaw Min Win of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and the officials conducted a virtual meeting on 27 July with a delegation led by Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director Mr Michael W Michalak of US-ASEAN Business Council to discuss matters concerning the growth of Myanmar’s economy, business opportunities and cooperation between the US and Myanmar.


The businesspersons from 10 US companies based in Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam joined the virtual meeting.


At the meeting, the businesspersons and representatives of Bower Group Asia, Chevron, Chubb, Coca-Cola, ExxonMobil, Google, Jhpiego, Pernod, Ricard, Scoular and Visa talked about the possible business situations and potential investments in the post-coronavirus era.


The president of UMFCCI and officials remarked the public-private partnership during the coronavirus outbreak, customs service and procedures, investment and digital transformation of enterprises.


Mr Michael W Michalak and the delegates highlighted the supporting plans to the vulnerable businesses hit hard by the coronavirus impacts, MSMEs, energy, transportation, manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, infrastructural building and human resource sectors.
