Three killed in slap-heap collapse in abandoned ruby mine

Three people—one man and two women—have died in a slap-heap collapse in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
    

The landslide occurred at an abandoned ruby mine belonging to Mogok Pride Ruby Mining Company in Koelan Village at about 8 a.m. on September 16 following heavy rains in the area. The landslide buried a home and killed three people.
    

The deceased were sent to a nearby rural hospital and an investigation into the case is ongoing by the police.
