Slight earthquake jolts Myanmar-India border

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake which was recorded this afternoon, according to a source from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter outside Myanmar hit India-Myanmar border region. It was recorded at 23:37 p.m. today at a latitude of 23.93°N, and longitude of 93.38°E, with a depth of 3.5 kilometers and about 61 miles southwest of the Tamu seismological observatory, the DMH announced.
