Salute our frontline heroes

Thousands of Myanmar migrant workers returned home crossing the border gates especially from Thailand amidst the Coronavirus outbreak.

Local authorities in their respective regions are on alert to provide them with 14-day facility quarantine in efforts to fight the infectious disease spread.

In this time of crisis, local health authorities including physicians and all medical professionals are taking an enormous personal risk under pressure, for themselves and their families, in caring for the sick and enforcing the 14- day quarantine among those who returned from foreign countries.

At the same time, those who finish the 14-day quarantine are considered free from the virus, and people should avoid discriminating against them.

We should not forget to express our thanks to those following the rules by quarantining themselves, and to encourage them to keep up their good work in this difficult situation, instead of being subjected to more aggravations.

Because they are also frontline prevention warriors helping the nation fight the disease. They are isolating themselves for the safety of the public and should not be subject to discrimination.

The upcoming four weeks are to be very important for our country in fighting the COVID-19 infection.—GNLM A team of health workers spray disinfectant in a library in Sagaing.
