Rural electrification facility launched in Laikha Township

Laikha, 17 February

An inauguration ceremony of a rural electrification facility was held in Namttoke Village, Laikha Township in Shan State yesterday.

At first, Shan State Lawmaker U Sai Kyaw Zeya and Chairman of the township management committee Township Administrator U Than Naing delivered speeches. Next, an official from the Electricity Supply Enterprise explained matters relating to power distribution, and implementation and installation of rural power structures carried out by the local government in the fiscal year 2018-2019 at a cost of Ks. 201.15 million.

According to him, power lines were built on a self-reliant basis to supply electricity to some villages in the township. Now local people from 40 households enjoy electricity from the newly-launched power facility.—Hlwan Thu Naung (IPRD)
