Over 800,000 fingerlings to be released into natural lakes in Mon State

With the aim of ensuring fish consumption, preventing fish depletion and increasing fish resources, Department of Fisheries is undertaking to release fish species into lakes, creeks and rivers across the nation. In Mon State, arrangements are being made to release over 800,000 fish species into natural lakes, according to Thaton Township Department of Fisheries.


This year, Mon State Department of Fisheries has earmarked to release over 2,330,000 fish species into lakes, creeks and rivers. Out of which over 800,000 will be distributed into the natural lakes and other remaining fish species will be sold to those who work fisheries at a set price.
