Hpa-an, 15 December
No casualties were reported in a filling station fire in a village near Hpa-an, the capital city of Kayin State on 13 December, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The fire broke out at a petrol station named “Top Power” beside Hpa-an-Thaton Road in Naungkyan Village, Hpa-an Township at about 9:45 a.m. on 13 December. The fire started when empty barrels on a 18-wheeld truck are being filled with fuel by three employees and had ceased about 2 hours later. The fire engulfed 287 empty barrels and one warehouse but no one was injured.
The in-charge of the petrol station identified as Naing Win Aung (alias) Phoe Khwar, 34 years has been charged with fire negligence by the local police.—MOHA
