No casualties were reported after an apartment fire in Sangyoung Township in Yangon Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The fire broke out at an apartment on the third flood of a seven-storey residential building in Kyuntaw Ward, Sangyoung Township at about 1:50 a.m. on September 14. The fire is believed to have been started from an overheated kettle. The firefighters from nearby fire service stations took about 10 minutes to completely put out the flame with the use of nine fire engines.
Action has been taken against the man who rents the apartment identified as U Sai Sa Aung Khe over fire negligence by the police.
