MoHT holds meeting on tourism development plans

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Ohn Maung met the tourism development working groups through videoconferencing yesterday afternoon to discuss preparations for tourism promotion with the review of current tourism situation in Myanmar due to COVID-19.
The Union Minister discussed arrangements to make Myanmar a safe and secure destination for international tourists, promoting health and safety protocol and marketing with the extensive use of digital marketing tools and the priority procedures to be carried out when the tourism resumes.
The Chairman of the Myanmar Tourism Federation reported on the preparations for the resumption of tourism in the post-COVID-19 period, and the meeting participants, Chairmen of the Myanmar-Europe, Myanmar-ASEAN, Myanmar-Japan, Myanmar-Korea and Myanmar-China Tourism Development Working Groups discussed the steps to be taken for tourism development according to the target markets.
Director-General for the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism Department U Maung Maung Kyaw discussed the budget for international tourism fairs and the need for tourism development working groups to be ready when international airlines resume. Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Tin Latt discussed the presentations of the tourism development groups to carry out in accordance with the respective markets and the Union Minister coordinated the meeting.— MNA
