MoE minister conducts online course in educational management

Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi conducted online Certificate in Educational Management (CEM) Batch 1 under the topic called “Achievements and Challenges of the Ministry of Education” yesterday.

The CEM Batch 1 was led by the University of Yangon under the management of the local and foreign experts from educational policy and educational management departments via Zoom App on 1 September 2020.

A total of 50 trainees -3 Directors-General, 5 Rectors, 8 Deputy Directors-General, 19 Deputy Rectors, 2 Principals of Government Technical Institute, 10 Directors and 3 Headmasters of basic education schools attended the course.

The CEM course focussed on education management, human resource management, research and planning, transformational management processes and communication skills.

The interactive discussion and self-directed learning methods were applied during the course, and the experts also tested the skills with assignments in accordance with the module. Arrangements are also being made to conduct CEM Batch 2 on 18 January 2021.

The courses aim to carry out the effective education reforms and to achieve collective strength in implementing the quality education with the teachers, staff, students and other education stakeholders who have the ability to overcome the challenges in the education sector.
