Mobile market trucks are back to its businesses on 10 November in four districts, Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) stated.

The mobile market plan temporarily halted on 8 November for the General Election and 9 November. It will resume on 10 November in four districts; located at Maha Myaing Housing in Dagon Myothit (North) Township and on Waziyar Street 4 and 5 of Ward 8 in North Okkalapa Township in the eastern district; on 34 and 36 Street of Kyauktada Township and in front of BEHS 4 of Baho Street and BEHS 3 of Sangyaung Street in Sangyaung Township in the western district, in front of ward administrator’s office on Maugon Lankyal Ward, at the corner of Aungmingala Hninsi and Sabae streets, at the intersection of Myittanyunt Yazathingyan and Marlar Nwe streets in Tamway Township in the southern district, and Pyiyeitmon Housing, at the corner of Nanattaw and Hledan streets and Ward 6 of Kamayut Township in the northern district.

In a bid to reduce the crowd at markets, bring fresh food to the consumers and contain the possible spread of the coronavirus in the region, the mobile market was introduced to run in three townships on 26 October, arranged by Yangon City Development Committee and the affiliated association of UMFCCI. People can purchase food at a fair price in their wards. The trucks will offer the packaged CP chicken, pork, beef, mutton, fresh and saltwater fish, egg and vegetable at a fair price.

The mobile market plan will proceed to other townships in four districts. The UMFCCI will update the daily sales plans through their Facebook Page and City FM programme. The trucks are hanging mobile market vinyl, and the respective officials from YCDC are monitoring them.

The management team of the mobile truck will accept the goods supplied by the registered farmers only. The team will also set the fairer price in certain wards for low-income people. Those truck operators must strictly adhere to the traffic rules, the rules set by the municipal, and the health guidelines for the coronavirus, the UMFCCI stated.
