Mine planters arrested

IT was reported on 27 May and 9 June that No (2) Mandalay-Yangon Up-train was derailed due to the explosions of landmine planted by terrorists between 125/14 and 15 mileposts near Kyunthayar village on 26 May and between 122/2 and 3 mileposts of Taung Gone village in Pyu Township of Bago Region on 8 June.

 

According to the investiga tion, Hein Min Tun from Ka Nyut Kwin Township, who participated in planting mine near Taung Gone village, was arrested at Station KTV beside Yangon-Mandalay Highway on 10 June.

 

According to the confession of Hein Min Tun, police arrested another seven suspects, including Kaung Pyae Zaw, at their respective houses.

 

The suspect, Hein Min Tun, also said San Shay (aka) Nay Lin Tun (under scrutiny) gave him a bag, and he kept it in the shed of U Kyi Lwin village road of No (2) Ward. The security members went there and found a bag containing a mine, Chinese-made grenades and other explosives.

 

Therefore, the officials investigate eight suspects, including Hein Min Tun, and take effective actions against them. — MNA
