Lethwei star Yan Naing Tun takes role as pandemic front-liner

Lethwei star Yan Naing Tun, one of the best youth fighters of Myanmar, is currently working as a Medical Lab Technician in Hpa-an, Kayin State, according to the statement with the World Lethwei Championship.

First, Yan Naing Tun has scheduled to compete in the biggest fight of his career in the previous month in Cambodia but the match has postponed due to the global outbreak of coronavirus infection. Yan Naing Tun, a fighter, has been working for the Ministry of Health and Sports since after his graduation and he has also won the golden belt championship tournament in 2017 (Light Welterweight) and 2019 (Light Middleweight).

Pandemic-pushed dual tasks took the fighter to the coronavirus fighter instead of fighting in the ring. As a coronavirus fighter, he is performing hundreds of swabs for the quarantined persons in Hpa-an, according to the WLC.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
