Immunization campaign conducted in Gangaw

The township Maternal and Child Welfare Association conducted a mass immunization campaign at the office of the township General Administration Department in ward-4 in the town of Gangaw, Magway Region yesterday morning.

 

At the event, an official from the township Maternal and Child Welfare Association clarified the purpose of the vaccination for children below five years old and pregnant women in the township.

 

Then, staff from the township Maternal and Child Welfare Association injected and dosed children below five years old and pregnant women with vaccination against various diseases such as polio, lockjaw, measles and rubella, tuberculosis and vitamin A.

 

Over 40 people including 40 children and two pregnant women in ward-4 in Gangaw received vaccination. The township Maternal and Child Welfare Association will also carry out the second vaccination campaign in ward-1 in the town of Gangaw tomorrow.—Htin Aung Naing, IPRD
