Elderly people in Myawaddy receive social pension

A ceremony to disburse social pension to elderly people above 85 years old was held at the meeting room of the District General Administration Department in the Town of Myawaddy, Kayin State this morning.


 
At the event, Chairman of the District Administration Council U Soe Tint delivered an opening speech and Assistant Director of the District Department of Social Welfare U Thiha Naing explained the provision of social pension for elderly people.

 

On the occasion, U Thiha Naing handed over Ks. 6.2 million to U Soe Tint. Then, officials handed over social pension to relevant village and ward administrators. Under this cash aid program, a total of 209 senior citizens in the Township received Ks. 30000 each for three months.

 

Afterwards, U Soe Tint called on respective village and ward Administrators to give social pension to senior citizens who are eligible for social pension in line with COVID-19 health rules.—Mah Than Shwe Myint(IPRD)
