Earthen road being upgraded to gravel facility in Pwintbyu Twsp

An earthen road in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region is reportedly being upgraded to a gravel facility by the Department of Rural Development.


K 37.5 million allocated by the local government in the current fiscal year is being spent on improvement of the rural road to benefit nearly 3,000 acres of farmland belonging to local farmers in the township. The upgrade works are being carried out by a private construction company so that local people can use the rural road in all seasons with greater ease.


Local authorities led by U Myo Aung, Director of the DRD made a field trip to the rural road to inspect the progress of the improvement works on January 21 and called for timely completion of the project. Upon completion, the rural road is expected to benefit 3,000 acres of farmland and over 11,500 local people from nearby villages will be able to use it in all seasons.


In addition, local people will be able to transport their products to other area in timely and convenient manner, said U Hla Htay Maung, an official from the DRD.
