Drugs seized in some townships

Police members from Kachin Police Force searched a motorbike driven by Ma Thein Shwe on Tanaing-Maingkhu Road in Suatngaing Ward in the town of Tanaing on 15 September and seized heroin weighing 0.495 kilo and 17100 stimulant tablets.  Afterwards, Police members searched the home of Ma Thein Shwe in Hukaung Ward in the town of Tanaing and confiscated heroin weighing 0.198 and 4180 stimulant tablets in the house.


In a similar incident on the same day, Police members from Anti-Drug Squad stopped a motorbike driven by Pyae Phyo Tun with Lin Lin Oo on board and seized 1900 stimulant tablets from them. Then, police members intercepted a car driven by  Sai Nya Linda with Ma Moe Tha Zin on board on Kyauksone-Naungwoo Road near Kyauksone Village, Lawk Sawk Township in Shan State and confiscated 20000 stimulant tablets from them.


In a similar incident, Security Force searched a motorbike driven by Sai Lu and seized raw opium weighing 33.35 kilos from him. 


The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
