Kengtung, 15 December
A mass walking event was held in conjunction with a mini-marathon contest in Kengtung, Eastern Shan State on 14 December.
Shan State Minister for Social Affairs Dr. Myo Tun, Shan State Minister for Ahkar Ethnic Affairs U Arr Bay Hla, Shan State lawmakers, departmental officials, members of social organization, teachers, students, and local people totaling more than 2500 people took part in the activity. Next, a mini-marathon event followed with the participation of over 500 students.
The race started from the Independence Monument and finished at the sports ground. The Shan State social affairs minister and concerned officials presented prizes to award winning participants.—Ye Htet Oo (IPRD)
