DDM stockpiles relief supplies for possible natural disasters in Khamti Twsp

17 kinds of relief items have already been stockpiled to provide local people if natural disasters occur in Khamti Township, Sagaing Region, according to an official from Department of Disaster Management.
    

A bank account has already been opened for the DDM in January this year and the department no longer seeks permission for financial assistance if a natural disaster occurs in the area, he added. He made the remarks during a regular meeting of the district management committee held at the meeting room of the General Administration Department on July 13.
    

The region consisting of Khamti, Homalin, Lahe and Nanyun Township reportedly experienced 16 disasters over the past year and the department furnished the disaster victims with K 13.636 million.
