Thayetchaung, 22 September
Officials from the township Department of Disaster Management provided cash assistance to flood victims whose homes were partially damaged by floodwaters in Kanet Village in Thayetchaung Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region on a door to door basis.
Officials from the township Department of Disaster Management under Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided K 50000 each for purchasing construction materials and rice to 21 family members from five households in Kanet Village in the township.
Afterwards, in charge person of the township Red Cross Society U Myat Ko Ko also provided rescue kit boxes to flood victims from five households in the village.
Also present on the occasion were deputy Administrator U Kyaw Zin, staff from the township Department of Disaster Management and members of the township Red Cross Society.—Naing Win, IPRD
