Dave Leduc beats Cyrus Washington in Lethwei fight in USA

CANADIAN Lethwei fighter Dave Leduc, who is representing Myanmar, defeated his former rival Cyrus Washington in the main event of the Open Weight Lethwei World Championship in Wyoming, USA on 7 November (11:30 pm) in US time which is equivalent to 8 November (1:30 pm) of Myanmar standard time.

 

Dave beat Cyrus by technical knockout at 2:40 minutes mark of the fourth round. Cyrus relied on trick kicks while Dave used long punches and elbow strikes. Dave’s right distancing and ranging made some difficulties for Cyrus to launch his strong kicks. The first round was finished after some hard fights.

 

The second round saw hot fights with Dave’s punches plus elbow strikes towards Cyrus. The round ended with a bloody face of Cyrus.

 

In the third round, Dave’s long kicks easily hit knees and thighs of Cyrus, making it difficult for the American fighter to position himself correctly. Next, in the fourth round, Cyrus tried to hurt Dave’s longer leg, but Dave did not feel a thing and launched his counter attack.

 

Cyrus struggled to get out of Dave’s fight, with his fists pounded and his elbows slammed shut.

 

At 2:40 minutes mark of the fourth round, Cyrus Washington injured severely in his face and referee decided the fight as a technical knockout. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
