Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein held talks with a business delegation led by Mr. Johno Than from Hua Tai Enterprise Co Ltd over the implementation of an industrial park near Bago City yesterday afternoon.
According to the discussions, an industrial park will reportedly be developed on 360 acres of land near Bago City. The industrial park is designed to include 57 factories, 15 hostels for workers, restaurants, shopping centers, elementary schools and orphanages and is expected to create up to 60,000 job opportunities for local people.
For his part, the chief minister said he welcomes the proposal because it can generate tax revenue for the country, saying the proposed project should be in accordance with the law.
Also present on the talks were region-level departmental staff and officials from Hua Tai Enterprise Co Ltd.
