Advance voting for 2020 General Election begins in Nay Pyi Taw

Advance voters, in compliance with COVID-19 preventive guidelines, cast their ballots for 2020 General Election at the respective ward/village-tract election sub-commission offices in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

The advance voters included those outside their constituencies, civil service employees performing duties outside their constituencies, those cannot come to the polling stations on the Election Day and elderly persons aged 60 and above.

 

They voted at the respective ward/village-tract election sub-commissions in the townships of Zabuthiri, Pobbathiri, Dekkhinathiri, Ottarathiri, Zeyathiri, Tatkon, Pyinmana and Lewe.

 

Election officials, taking body temperature, providing hand sanitizer and face masks, conducted voting processes in line with COVID-19 preventive guidelines.

 

The election sub-commissions have managed home-based methods of voting for the elderly persons aged 60 and above from 29 October to 5 November.—Myo Thwin Kyaw
