Two people were killed and one other injured in a traffic accident in Minkin Township, Sagaing Region, according to a source from a local police station.
The fatal accident occurred at a mountain slope on the Minkin-Myoma Road near Myoma Village in Minkin Township at about 11:20 a.m. on 17 February. A six-wheeled truck loaded with sands rear ended another six wheeled-truck carrying cement bags after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver from the truck laden with cement bags identified as Win Myat Zaw (alias) Waing Lay, 24, and his two-year old daughter were pronounced dead on the scene and his wife named Ma Hnin Ngwe, 26, was injured in the incident.
In connection with the traffic accident, the driver from the truck loaded with sands named Aung Phyo Oo, 30, from Kalay Township has been taken action.—Moe Thauk (Shwebo)
